My Thoughts

Like many I am a huge fan of the original Jumanji and when news of a sequel was announced I was very leery of this. I can say after seeing the film it was better than I thought it would be it was actually pretty funny and enjoyable. Both sets of casts worked very well together, The Rock and Kevin Hart for me worked much better together in this film then in Central Intelligence they had good interplay and some good jokes between them. Jack Black was a standout for me, he did a great job playing a teenage girl trapped in a middle aged man's body, his mannerisms ans voice tone was great. Since this film took a comedic turn what it came down to for me was it funny and overall I would say yes it was, I chuckled more than a fesa times and that is rare for me to do especially when seeing a film at the theaters. I will say the CG was a little cheesy in parts and looked really bad and the run time could have been a little shorter but overall it flowed pretty well.Rotten Tomatoes  gave this film a 83% saying " Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle uses a charming cast and a humorous twist to offer an undemanding yet solidly entertaining update on its source material". I agree with this. This film took a different approach to the original Jumanji film but that was not necessarily a bad thing, this was a solid film, with good laughs a cast that worked well together and is worth seeing once.

Rating

Solid film, good laughs, better than I expected worth seeing 7.5/10!!
