My Thoughts
When I First heard about this film and its plot I was really excited to see it, the plot really interested me and caught my interest. I can say now after seeing this film that I was hugely disappointed wit the film overall. I will say before I go any further that Johnny Depp was solid in his role as Will Castor and I will give a special mention to Rebecca Hall in her portrayal of Evelyn Caster. That is where the good points end, overall this movie was just boring there was not much action or moments of exhilaration at all the movie was just flat. The plot while interesting was not executed very well in my opinion and could have been made a little more intriguing. The acting of all the other casts members was not that good (Morgan Freeman was okay , Paul Bettany to me didn't do a very good job). The special effects where good where nothing to write home about. the overall pacing of the film was just bland and lead to a feeling of boredom from me after seeing this film., It wasn't a bad film but it did nothing to leave a memorable impression on me. Rotten Tomatoes gave this film a 19% saying "In his directorial debut, ace cinematographer Wally Pfister remains a distinctive visual stylist, but Transcendence's thought-provoking themes exceed the movie's narrative grasp"I agree with the score but i disagree with he comments the movie for me wasn't very visually stimulating either it was just a movie that was average in ever y way. If you have nothing better to do and want to see a mvoie that isnt horrible but isnt greeat and are a fan of Johnny Depp then this maybe a good choice for you.
